The topic of alternative fuels has been a hot one for some time now, and electrification does appear to be the front runner in alternative fuel supply.
ZEV mandate
(Zero Emissions Vehicle)
Our Government introduced the ZEV (Zero Emissions Vehicle) mandate in September 2023 pathing the way for zero emission vehicles by 2035.
The government has committed to 100% zero emission vehicles by 2035.
By 2030 80% of new cars and 70% of new vans sold in Great Britain are to be zero emissions.
Each year from now until 2035 each manufacturer will have to increase its percentage output of Zero Emission Vehicles and decrease its output of fossil fuel Vehicles year on year until finally reaching 2035. This will undoubtably make it harder to source and more expensive to purchase, lease and rent diesel and petrol vehicles and will further substantially aid the growth of the alternative fuels market.
Infrastructure
The government and investors have pledged billions into the infrastructure required for electric vehicles, as have manufacturers of commercial vehicles and cars. Whilst many alternative fuel sources are discussed it remains that electrification seems the most supported by the government and manufacturers.

Grants & Schemes
At present the government have introduced several schemes to lower the upfront cost of running electric vehicles including plug in grants and home place charging points.
